At La
Crosse Veterinary Clinic, we are pleased to offer our patients
the services of our in-clinic, full service laboratory. Our
modern lab allows for accurate results in a short period of
time.

Lab tests play an important role in helping us to assess or
monitor your pet’s health. These tests can verify that your pet
is in good health, but can also help in the early detection of
illness or disease.

We also routinely utilize the services of other veterinary
diagnostic laboratories for tests that we are not able to
perform in our hospital. These labs are specialized,
specifically equipped to process animal samples, and staffed by
veterinary experts. By working closely with these laboratories,
we are proud to offer your pet the absolute best in diagnostic
testing! Be assured that your pet's testing is conducted in a
precise, professional manner with extra care given to accuracy
and promptness.

Why is
testing important?
Blood
and urine tests from a healthy pet allow the veterinarian to
establish baseline or normal values to refer to in future
testing. For pets who appear healthy, testing
may uncover an underlying disease
or condition before outward symptoms become apparent. Many
diseases can be successfully treated or managed if caught in the
early stages. For sick or injured pets, testing is critical in
aiding the veterinarian to diagnose a problem, so treatment can
begin. Testing is also beneficial in monitoring pets on long
term medications or those with chronic health conditions.
Pre-anesthetic testing allows the veterinarian to identify pets
at risk of possible complications while under anesthesia and
select the type of anesthesia best suited to the animal. |
