Julie was hired
by the clinic in May of 1997. As our clinic’s certified practice
manager, she oversees the clinic staff, operations, inventory,
facility, and administration. She also assists the veterinarians
and clinic owners with ongoing improvements to client and
patient care. Julie is a graduate of Purdue University’s
Veterinary Management Institute and AAHA’s Veterinary Management
School, as well as completing training through the Veterinary
Hospital Manager’s association to become a certified veterinary
practice manager. She lists veterinary law and ethics, student
and client education, and mentorship of other practice managers
as her professional interests. In addition Julie enjoys canine
training including socialization, obedience, agility, fly-ball,
and tracking. Since the age of 5, she has dreamed about working
with animals and found the field of veterinary medicine to
satisfy her combined interest in business and science. Julie
likes helping the clinic staff develop confidence in themselves
and their roles here. She also finds that she never stops
learning and is proud of the fact that we continuously make a
difference in the lives of pets and their families.
Professionally, Julie belongs to the
Veterinary
Hospitals Manager’s Association (VHMA), the
American
Animal Hospital Association (AAHA), and the
Wisconsin
Veterinary Practice Manager’s Association (WVPMA).
Julie and her husband have a son, and they share their home with
two dogs: Misty and Buddy, three cats: YumYum, KoKo and Mr.
Snickers, two horses: Stanley and Tara, two goats: Lincoln and
Spots, and five fish. In her spare time she enjoys caring for
her pets, camping, hiking, gardening, knitting, and yoga. |
